UK selections successfully covered by more than 40 Mobile Viewpoint transmitters

Aug 5th, 2015 UK selections successfully covered by more than 40 Mobile Viewpoint transmitters

Mobile Viewpoint, a market leader in wireless 3G/4G communications, covered the UK elections with more than 40 bonded video transmitters. A majority was used by the BBC but many channels outside the UK brought their own transmitters to bring the thrill seeking exit polls live from London. The WMT proved itself both as mobile backpack unit and as part of KA vehicles being us as adaptive IP encoder. Elections proved to be the ideal event for live coverage with bonded transmitters. Mobile Viewpoint will cover the Spanish and Polish elections later this month with even higher numbers.

Michel Bais, Managing Director of Mobile Viewpoint: “The deployment of our equipment across the UK shows how the WMT enables cost effective all IP news gathering. In combination with Mobile Viewpoint Videomanager our web based IP MCR, feeds were distributed around the world.”
